South Yuba River State Park
Twenty miles of river canyon with world-class swimming holes, granite sunning rocks, and wildflower-covered trails. The main attraction for summer wedding guests. Swimming is best July through September when water levels drop and warm.
Buttermilk Bend Trail
Family-friendly trail along the South Yuba with swimming holes and wildflowers. Peak blooms in March through May — one of the most scenic hikes in the Sierra Foothills.
Independence Trail
The nation's first wheelchair-accessible wilderness trail. Follows Gold Rush–era flumes with sweeping river canyon views. Beautiful and accessible for all guests.
Empire Mine State Historic Park
California's most productive gold mine (1850–1956). Over 850 acres with 14 miles of trails, restored mine buildings, an English-style estate, and guided docent tours. Admission charged.
Deer Creek Tribute Trail
